The instruments I build are based on classical Italian design and principles, with careful attention to art and detail.  Mine are not strict copies, however, but one of a kind violins built with a focus on both sound and aesthetic.  I work almost exclusively with hand tools, and try to start with excellent wood and end up with an excellent sounding violin that also looks nice.  I find the process of building a violin to be very exciting and challenging,  and playing music on the instrument is the ultimate reward after so many hours of careful work.
